Affiliation and Mutual Recognition with University of Azteca, Mexico

The University of Azteca or Universidad Azteca (also known as Universidad Azteca de Chalco) is a private university in Chalco, Mexico in a community in Mexico State in the greater Mexico City area. Universidad Azteca is a private university with recognition of the Official Validity of Studies awarded by the Federal Secretary of Education (RVOE), accredited by the Federal Ministry of Education of the Republic and recognized by the Federal Government to provide higher education and award graduate and postgraduate university degrees. According to the Mexican Higher Education laws Universidad Azteca is authorised to offer study programmes and award degrees with RVOE and offer autonomous programmes and award academic degrees of the university. The study areas with RVOE (accreditation) are Administration Informatics; Architecture; Business Administration; Education Sciences; International Commerce; Law; Pedagogics; Psychology; Public Accounting.
NATIONAL RECOGNITION
According to the Mexican Higher Education laws Universidad Azteca is authorized to award degrees with RVOE for use in Mexico and own academic and professional higher degrees of the university (grados propios) without RVOE.
Official notification of the Registry of Educational Establishments, 9 April 1999, No. 15-00084: registered in the first section of the Book 71-VIII of Educational Institutions, on page 129, as a Private Institution with Recognition of the Official Validity of Studies, awarded by the General Directorate of Higher Education of the Sub-Secretary of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Secretary of Public Education SEP. Decree of the Registry of Educational Establishments, 9 April 1999, No. 15-00084: that the Educational Institution has an authorization to conduct studies of the type “Superior”; that the Educational Centre can award titles and degrees in conformity with those established in Article 60 of the General Law of Education and 18 of the Law for the Coordination of Higher Education.

INTERNATIONAL ACCREDITATION
Universidad Azteca is a PREMIER PROVIDER accredited university by Accreditation Service for International Colleges and Universities (ASIC) at UK
ASIC, Accreditation Service for International Colleges and Universities, is based in the UK, is a UK Border Agency recognized Accreditation Body, a member of the British Quality Foundation (BQF), sits on the Quality Standards Group of UK NARIC, is listed in the international registry for the UK of CHEA, the USA Council for Higher Education Accreditation, and is a national UK Affiliate of ENQA, the European Network of Quality Assurance for Higher Education, which recognizes ASIC as a bona fide quality assurance agency.
ASIC inspections include an examination of the content and standard of the curriculum as well as the quality of its delivery to learners. ASIC also pays close attention to the consistency and reliability of assessment. However, it should be noted that ASIC neither confers nor validates degree-awarding powers. ASIC inspectors conducted thorough audits at either university in Mexico, including domestic and international programs, and based on their criteria based evaluation report the ASIC commission has accredited Universidad Azteca in the best ASIC category with PREMIER PROVIDER status.

The Quality Assurance Commission has examined the curricula and syllaba presented and certified that this institution has met all the standards set by the Quality Assurance Commission, and that the Mexican and European programmes of Universidad Azteca are accredited and validated as aligned in credits to the United Kingdom Qualifications and Credit Framework and the Quality Assurance Commission affirmed the comparability in standards and quality to programmes offered in the United Kingdom.
The Quality Assurance Commission is recognized as an accrediting body for the purposes of Key Information Set KIS, operated and published by the UK government Higher Education Statistics Agency, and registered as `Accrediting Body´. An accredited course is defined by HESA as one which is recognized by an accrediting body and may confer membership, chartered status or partial exemption. Accreditation may be ‘any process of approval leading to assurance that a programme meets the standards required by a particular profession’. The Quality Assurance Commission complies with the requirements for HESA KIS registration as PSRB (Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Body) for programme accreditation. According to the HEBRG (Higher Education Better Regulation Group) one of the roles of a PSRB may be to accredit programmes of higher education, either directly or through institutional accreditation. HEPISG, the Higher Education Public Information Steering Group, has ultimate responsibility for information contained within and developed for KIS. While certain functions associated with professional accreditation are devolved to HEFCE, HESA, QAA and HEBRG, HEPISG’s decisions are final over inclusion to the list of accrediting bodies.
